Note: The following dictionary has been prepared for translators of English theosophical literature to Chinese. A simple English definition of each term has been added to provide a brief understanding of the term and to distinguish it from other usages of the term.
Some terms come from Hindu, Buddhist and other religious literature. These have been added because they are frequently encountered in theosophical literature. Transliterations of Hindu and Buddhist names are based on popular usages, and diacritical marks have not been added for this initial version.
The compiler wishes to thank Bro. Hauw Tio Hiong of the Singapore Lodge of the Theosophical Society, who reviewed this compilation and made very helpful suggestions.
Suggestions for additional terms, or corrections of translations, are most welcome. Please email to v.haochin@gmail.com.
